A beautiful Jaguar MK2 Saloon which has been substantially modified by us here at CMC for long distance enduro rallying.
Just last year this car took part in the Rally Med covering some 18,000 kilometres in just 9 weeks with nothing more serious than a broken headlight and a broken hand brake return spring. Travelling through deserts where the ambient temperatures were over 40 degrees with no over heating. The fuel consumption averaged 23 to 24 miles to the gallon throughout the rally. 

A quite remarkable economy figure when you take into account that the car had a driver and co drive, all their luggage, additional fuel cans in the boot and the rear seat had been removed and replaced with a specially made aluminium trunk filled with every conceivable spare part.

This MK2 Saloon is a jump in and drive anywhere vehicle, it is just as happy trundling down to the local supermarket as travelling at high speed across some fairly inhospitable roads. The engine is very powerful delivering huge amounts of torque from as low as 1500 RPM all the way through to 5100 RPM coupled to the five speed transmission makes overtaking a real pleasure even on our overcrowded roads.
